Gal Gadot rose to A-list stardom in Hollywood with her portrayal of Wonder Woman, but the role came with a lot of trade-offs. While filming for “Wonder Woman 1984,” Warner Bros. made it mandatory for Gal Gadot to agree to return and play additional scenes as required, without knowing the content in advance for security reasons. This clause also made it difficult for her to take on other projects outside the DC cinematic universe. When the director of “Justice League” was replaced, Gal Gadot and the rest of the cast had to play an additional 80 pages of a new script that was not part of the original plan. Now that “Wonder Woman 1984” is completed, however, she has started accepting other projects such as “Death on the Nile” and “Red Notice.” Despite the challenges, Gal Gadot remains Hollywood’s beloved goddess of warriors.
Keep stunts to a minimum
Wonder Woman sets herself apart from Batman and other heroes by not sporting a mask while in combat. As a result, the film crew had to cut back on the use of stunt doubles for Gal Gadot. The actress faced numerous injuries while filming for DC, owing to the action-packed scenes. In fact, towards the end of 2019, she revealed that she had sustained a severe spinal injury while shooting for “Wonder Woman 1984”.
Gal Gadot had to undergo a rigorous training regime and strict diet to prepare for her role in the “Wonder Woman” series. With minimal use of stuntmen, she spent months perfecting her combat skills with trainers, focusing mainly on sword and shield lessons to portray the Amazon warrior character realistically. In addition, Gal Gadot had to maintain a fit body throughout filming, which proved to be a challenge during her pregnancy while filming “Justice League” and “Wonder Woman”. She initially concealed her pregnancy but eventually limited action scenes and used computer-generated imagery. The actress starts her day with a nutritious breakfast of omelette, bread, fruit, or smoothie, with 40% of her diet comprising vegetables and protein from fish or chicken.
The trainers advised Gal Gadot to increase her daily water intake to approximately 4 liters. Despite being a fan of greasy foods like hamburgers and fries, the actress treats herself to comfort meals after finishing a movie. While playing Wonder Woman on screen brings her pride, Gal Gadot also has a responsibility as a real-life heroine to inspire women around the world. According to TheGamer, her contract includes a clause that prohibits her from performing actions that may harm the character’s image. The actress is actively involved in promoting gender equality in Hollywood and was appointed as an honorary ambassador for the United Nations’ women’s protection activities. On social media, she maintains a vibrant and optimistic persona, spreading positivity and motivation to her fans worldwide.
