In an incredible show of motherly love, the elephant mother gently wrapped her trunk around her baby’s neck, attempting to help it out of the waterhole. With her trunk and hind legs, she carefully lifted the calf, showing great care and protection. Cooper noted, “The baby elephant is still very young, and the mother is doing everything she can to keep it out of harm’s way.”
